Preserved Mango (with asam boi and chili padi)



4  green mango (1.5kg total weight after deseed and cut into strips)
400gm sugar
10pcs Chili Padi (birds eye chili) – thinly sliced (add/reduce according to your preference)
25pcs Asam boi (preserved plum)
1 liter water + 1 tbsp salt (for soaking purposes)


  1. Soak sliced green mango in salted water for at least 30 minutes (This is to ensure the mango turns out crunchy)
  2. Wash and drain the water completely.
  3. Add sugar + assam boi + birds eye chili with green mango and mix until all mangoes are coated with sugar.
  4. Place them into a jar and into the fridge for at least 2 days.
  5. Serve chilled. Enjoy!
