Stewed Pork (Hong Bak) – Salty

Serving : 4 pax
Preparation : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 2 hours

INGREDIENTS

300gms Pork Belly (Cubed to 0.5 inches)
6 pips Garlic (fine chop)
500gms Water
1 tbps Black Sauce (Add more if you want it darker)
1 tsp Soy Sauce
1 tsp Salt

METHOD

  1. In pan boil some water to scald the pork cubes so that it doesn’t have too much of a porky smell. Drain all the hot water and set aside.
  2. In another pan, fry the garlic until fragrant. Add the pork cubes in and mix well.
  3. Add in water, black sauce, salt and soya sauce. Simmer in low heat for at least 1 hour, checking occasionally so that the sauce will not be burnt.
  4. Simmer until gravy is at least 1/4 of the pot so that you will have enough gravy to sauce your rice.
  5. Serve hot!
